1.About University

SRM Institute of Science & Technology is a Deemed University established in Kuttankulathur, Kanchipuram,Madras. The Institute was originally established as SRM Engineering College in 1985 under University of Madras. Sri Ramaswamy Memorial University was the former name of the institute. SRM Institute is one of the top ranking universities in India with over 38,000 students and more than 2600 faculty across all the campus. The University offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in Engineering, Management, Medicine and Health sciences, and Science and Humanities.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under the University of Madras. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes six campuses, out of which three are in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani, one in NCR Delhi, one in Sikkim and one in Amaravati. The institute was renamed SRM Institute of Science & technology after it has gained Deemed University status in 2003-2004 academic session. The University status which it had gained in 2006 was dropped in 2017 & was renamed as SRM Institute of Science & Technology. As of 2019, more than 170,000 students had appeared for the examination out of which 76,000 were called for counseling.

 SRM offers admissions to Under graduate courses through SRMJEE UG ( Shri Ramaswamy Memorial Joint Entrance Exam UG) & to Post Graduate courses through SRMJEE PG (Shri Rama swamy Memorial Joint Entrance Exam PG) which are conducted every year in the months of May & June.

SRM offers Undergraduate courses in 4 disciplines, Post Graduates in 4 disciplines, PhD in 3 streams, Diplomas in 16 streams  which are offered to 38000 students mentored & guided by 2600 faculty with a ratio of 10 students : 1 faculty.

8.Eligibility

Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of PIO or OCI card issued by Government of India are eligible to apply for SRMJEEE (UG). Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM

10.Selection Process

• SRMJEE is a Computer Based Test (CBT)
• It is a 2: 30 hr exam with Maths (40), Physics& Chemistry (35 each), Aptitude (10), English (5) questions.
• Each question carries 1 mark which makes a total of 125 marks for the entire exam.
• No negative marks for the wrong answer

13.Fee Structure

First Year One-time non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee of Rs.10,000/- for programs with an annual fee of Rs.1,00,000/- and above and Rs.5,000/- for programs with an annual fee less than Rs.1,00,000/-

Hostel fee is the same for all the campuses but differs for categories like AC, Non- AC, Sharing criteria, etc.
