1.About University
Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a private deemed university & Institute of Eminence established in 1994 in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. The Institute is a multi –disciplinary & has 6 campuses &15 constituent schools across Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Kerala while its Headquarters is in Ettimadai, Coimbatore. The Institute was established by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi & is managed by her International Humanitarian Organization Mata Amritanandamayi Math in 1994 in Coimbatore, with the foundation of Amrita School of Engineering as their first ever Campus in India. It continuously collaborates with top American & European universities including Ivy League universities for regular student exchange programs.
AmritaVishwa Vidayapeetham is established with the main motto as “Shraddhavan Labhatae Jnanam- The Earnest aspirant gains supreme Wisdom.” The institute maintains a world- class infrastructure & friendly atmosphere for its students.

The University has total 6 campuses spread across both rural & urban areas in Tamilnadu, Kerala & Karnataka. Two more healthcare campuses are being constructed at Faridabad, Haryana & Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.
7.Campus Life
Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeetham admits approximately 20250 students into 207 programs which are taught by 1470 faculty out of which 800+ are Ph.D. holders teaching 15 Constituent schools in 6 campuses. The university has a partnership with 150 + International Universities.
Amritha Technologies has developed a world-class University Management System which includes Amritha Vidya which is an e-learning platform, a web-based software for effective management of learning services. Amritha University Management System (AUMS)&Amritha Multiplatform for Personalized Learning (AMPLE) are the best efficient products of Amritha University.
Amritha University has events going on all round the year which includes many Workshops & Seminars. Some of the events are Samagra (Literature & cultural Event), Anokha (Tech fest), Pragati &Asthra (Management fests). Many workshops are conducted for the welfare of the society. Some of them are Never Alone (Suicide Prevention), Cancer Care, Darshanam (Temple Traditions), Navya – Nyaya (Spiritual).
Annual days and Annual Sports days are conducted on different days at different campuses. The university always celebrates the regular festivals with special dedication &Amma’s birthday event is the best celebrated of all.
8.Courses Offered
The university has schools of engineering in 4 of its 6 campuses, and offers undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs. The Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore predates the university itself as it became the first Amrita institution for higher education to be set up when it was opened in 1994, whereas the university received its deemed status only later in 2003. Other than the Coimbatore campus, the Amritapuri, the Bengaluru, and the newly established Chennai campuses have schools of engineering.
The four schools offer B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD degree programs and the Kochi campus offers M.Tech in Nano-Medicine, Molecular Medicine and Nanotechnology and Renewable Energy.

10.Admission procedure
Amritha School of Engineering admits students with their AEEE rank / JEE Mains rank.AEEE is Entrance Exam specific to students who want to join in Engineering in Amritha University. 70% of the seats are reserved for students who are qualified in AEEE exam while the rest 30 % will be reserved for JEE Qualified students.
11.Salient features of AEEE
- The Exam is conducted both Online (CBT) & Offline (paper Based Test)
- The duration of exam is 2:30 hrs & conducted in 3 slots. Only students attending Online Mode of exam will have to choose slots.
- There will be 100 Multiple Choice questions (MCQ) -Maths-40, Physics 30& Chemistry 30. Total marks for exam is 300.
- Every correct answer carries 3 marks & each wrong answer takes away 1 mark from total.
- The exam is conducted once a year.
- The age of the candidate should be less than 21 years.
- The candidate should have cleared class XII exam with overall 55% in Maths, Physics & Chemistry. Also candidate should have got 60% in mathematics.
- Application fee for the exam is Rs. 1000 which can be paid online / through DD.
