About Manipal Entrance Test 2026:
The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2026 is conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) for admission into undergraduate engineering (BTech) programs. Performance in this entrance exam determines eligibility for admission into various Manipal campuses across India. The test is conducted online as a computer-based examination featuring objective-type questions.
ELIGIBILITY:
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) offers admissions under two primary categories: Indian/Domestic (General) and International (Foreign/NRI). Regardless of category, admission is granted strictly on merit, provided candidates meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.
Who Can Apply Under the International (Foreign/NRI) Category
Seats in this category are reserved exclusively for:
- Foreign citizens
- Students holding valid NRI status
- Applicants sponsored by close relatives with NRI status
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
It is important to note that Foreign/NRI/NRI-sponsored seats are not the same as management, payment, or reserved quota seats.
Candidates must have obtained their OCI or PIO card on or before 4 March 2021.
As per the Supreme Court of India judgment dated 3 February 2023 (Writ Petition Civil No. 891/2021), OCI/PIO candidates who secured their card before this date are to be treated on par with Indian nationals for admission purposes.
Academic Qualification
Applicants must have successfully completed 10+2 (or an equivalent examination) from a recognized board with:
- Physics, Mathematics, and English as mandatory subjects
- One optional subject chosen from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a Technical Vocational subject
- A minimum of 50% combined marks in Physics, Mathematics, and the selected optional subject
