NIT VACANT SEATS & CSAB COUNSELLING 2025
The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced that the Special Round Counselling 2025 will begin on July 30, 2025 (10:00 AM). This counselling is conducted to fill the vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, IIEST, SPAs, and other GFTIs after the completion of JoSAA 2025 counselling.
Candidates can register and complete choice filling by August 3, 2025 (5:00 PM) at the official website: csab.nic.in

Who Can Apply for CSAB 2025?
The CSAB Special Round is open to all candidates eligible for JoSAA 2025 under the NIT+ system (based on JEE Main 2025 rank).
Eligible Candidates:
- Candidates who did not register for JoSAA 2025 but meet the eligibility criteria.
- Registered in JoSAA 2025 but were not allotted any seat.
- Allotted a seat in JoSAA but canceled due to non-payment of SAF.
- Candidates who exercised the exit option during JoSAA 2025.
- Allotted an IIT seat in JoSAA but later:
- Seat canceled after document verification, OR
- Withdrawn validly, OR
- Took admission but are still eligible.
- Allotted an NIT+ seat in JoSAA, paid SAF & PAF, and secured admission.
- Allotted an NIT+ seat but later withdrew.
- Seat canceled after document verification with no subsequent allotment in JoSAA.
- Allotted an NIT+ seat, paid SAF, verified documents but failed to pay PAF, resulting in cancellation.

Step-by-Step Registration Process
- Visit csab.nic.in
- Click on “Special Round Registration”
- Log in using JEE Main 2025 credentials
- Fill in the registration form and pay the counselling fee before August 3, 5 PM
- Fill and lock your choices before August 8, 5 PM
- Wait for the seat allotment results
Key Points to Remember
- Fresh registration is mandatory for all candidates (even JoSAA participants).
- There will be 3 Special Rounds for seat allocation.
- Seat allotment will be based on JEE Main 2025 rank and availability.
- Candidates can accept, upgrade, or withdraw after each round.
